Unconditional Love Is Everything

There is nothing that has been more powerful in my journey of healing & transformation than loving my current & younger self unconditionally, more & more.

I spent years living in terror as I experienced PTSD and had the challenge of depression and anxiety from childhood trauma. I learned from Gerald G. Jampolsky’s potent book that “Love is Letting Go of Fear.”

I learned how wired for fear that I had been, up until those early young adult years.

Fear because society almost worships fear and operates on scarcity and fear of worst case scenarios.

Fear because I had experienced indescribable bodily trauma that impacted my mind and nervous system as well on a very cellular level. Pure terror. So many times. For years.

Fear because I had been raised in an incredibly fear-based religion.

Fear because that is all I had known as a framework for life.

And guess what?

Fear was killing me.

In hindsight I know more now, how fear and the emotions of anxiety and trauma actually cause physiological changes in the body that over time can manifest in very real health challenges.

What saved my life?

What helped me flip a 180 and change my life direction away from fear?

LOVE.

Unconditional love.

I thought I knew love.

I had been raised to hear about the power of love, how love conquers all, breaks magical curses, is more powerful than anything.

I’d been raised in religion that love was the most important force.

Heard all the songs that love was the answer or “all you need”…

I thought I knew love.

I absolutely did not.

In my opinion and based on my experience, the true power of love is internal.

The power of love for ourselves.

The power that loving ourselves, unconditionally, has to literally transform us on multiple levels and leap us into entirely new realities!!

I thought I knew love, but looking back I understand now that I knew love intellectually.

And conditionally. In relationships and with myself.

Unconditional love, true unconditional love, is something I could have never understood intellectually. It’s something I think can only be understood through experience. Internally.

And, with the focus on unconditional love in my 2-year Advanced Spiritual Psychology program at the University of Santa Monica, I believe that we can only ever feel for someone else what we first feel for ourselves. Within ourselves.

If we don’t have the capacity to experience it internally and know it for ourselves, we don’t have that capacity to feel it towards others.

It’s why so many relationships I saw growing up seemed miserable. Toxic. Unhappy. A push pull fight for power or love. Because in general, modern day society doesn’t raise us to know or even experience unconditional love.

How can we give something we don’t know?

How can we experience something we don’t know exists or have never seen embodied before? As a kid, we generally only know what we see, receive or are told about.

True unconditional love has changed my life. It has changed my body.

It has taken me from living in terror, feeling worthless, and lots of unkind things toward my body, to…

Living primarily in feelings and experiences of peace. Safety. Security.

JOY.  WORTHINESS. BEING LOVED & SUPPORTED.

And absolutely loving and cherishing and celebrating and thanking and being in awe of my body as my default state!

Unconditional love is what lies underneath every experience, emotion, commotion, always.

Unconditional love is the life force that breathes existence and life and reality.

Unconditional love is everything that is real: Peace. Presence. Abundance. Joy. Love. Excitement. Compassion. Freedom. Magic. Infinite.

Unconditional love is what I began to feel when I started regularly going out into nature guiding camping and backpacking trips.

That ever present. Unending. Peaceful steady breathing life force that is so palpable in the air when you are in the woods. Watching a desert sunset. Looking up at a dark sky full of stars.

Unconditional love is something I could try to describe for years and yet you could never experience it from an intellectual understanding…

Unconditional love has the absolute power to transform anything and everything unpleasant into everything that feels good.

Unconditional love is life.

Unconditional love is the fabric of reality.

Unconditional love is the most powerful force there is.

Unconditional love is what changed my life.

Unconditional love is what I believe in most.

And unconditional love is what I believe lies at the essence of every living being.

I believe it is who you truly are.

My hope is for every human being to know and experience the true expanse of life and love that is their core. To know who they truly are and bask in the everything that you are: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

I don’t know how unconditional love may show up for you.

How she may invite you into her experience.

How she may open up and come forth within you.

If you desire to know her more, to experience true unconditional love, it starts within you. I invite you to ask whatever power you believe in to show you unconditional love. To guide you to choose love over fear. To invite in the miracles of true unconditional love into your life. To learn to love ALL parts of yourself unconditionally.

Expect miracles.

All I can say is that unconditional love is, in my experience, a lifelong journey. I am continually opening up and deepening into her/me more fully…

And no matter how this evolves, it will always be something I can only ever experience beyond rational thought. And something I can never convey fully in words.

I envision a world of all people living in their true nature of unconditional love. I believe this is our natural state.

LOVE.

True love.

Much love,

Jenna

I acknowledge the Chumash indigenous peoples upon whose ancestral lands I reside. I recognize the trauma and oppression they’ve experienced through colonialism and honor their resilience and presence through current day. I am grateful to the Chumash people for nurturing this land for millennia, which spans the California coast from Malibu to San Luis Obispo and the Channel Islands. I recognize the value of their ancestral wisdom today and commit to supporting the Chumash people and the preservation of their culture and Šmuwič language.
