What Do You Want In Your Life?

So many of us know what we don’t want in life.
Early on in my journey of learning the principles and practices of intentional co-creation, I learned real fast from my coach at the time:
I had spent a LOT of time dwelling on what I didn’t want in life.
I knew so clearly the ways I did not want to live my life!
I was so incredibly adamant about the ways I would not live my life based on superficial stereotypes, societal expectations, and definitely not gender norms!!
I look back at this and laugh - I love how clear my younger self was about what she did not want. It is good to know what we don’t want!!
I was the first half of the way there. I was just missing the final - and arguably the most essential - step:
I WAS MISSING A CLEAR, ARTICULATED, DREAMING-BIG-AND-UNFILTERED-STRAIGHT-FROM-MY-HEART VISION !!!!!!!
I thought I knew what I wanted.
And in a general sense, I absolutely did!!
However, and this is where it’s incredibly important to understand the why behind the essential nature of a vision:
I HAD NEVER LIVED BEFORE WHAT IT WAS I WAS DESIRING.
AND FRANKLY, I KNEW FEW IF ANY PEOPLE WHO HAD !!!!!
I had such few women role models - embodying the type of woman I actually felt in my being that I needed to be.
I had a general idea of the body I desired to live in, the way I wanted my health to be.
I knew what type of life I wanted to lead - kinda.
HOWEVER -
The majority of my mental and emotional energy had been so focused on identifying each and every way I was not who I wanted to be… and each and every way others were living that I refused to live!
I have learned so intensely over the past 6 years since this time, that what I focus on does in fact, grow.
What I put my mental and emotional energy toward absolutely flows energy toward this outcome over time.
(Though this does not mean that everything we think or feel WILL manifest - I believe the power of love and goodness is always far, far more powerful than fear or sadness or guilt.)
My phenomenal coach, who forever changed my life with her teachings and embodied brilliance, would bring me back to the simple question each time I began to proliferate on all the ways I was upset about a certain situation in my life.
She would ask me more or less this question:
What do you want?
And further- how do you want it to feel? If it could be anything in the world your heart desired, what would it be??
I used to be afraid of these types of questions. I was afraid to dream big. I was afraid to actually admit what I wanted deep down, because I used to believe I couldn’t actually live those big, beautiful dreams I buried within my mind.
However, she continually brought me back to the knowledge that everything is possible. My desires are guiding me. I was born to live out each and every one of my dreams!!
I have found this to be true.
Now, I have not fully realized each of my dreams and desires for this life yet.
But what I can say for sure is:
CONTINUALLY HAVING A VISION. FLESHING OUT WHAT I DESIRE, CONSTANTLY, IN SO MANY AREAS SO MINUTE AND GRAND IN MY LIFE, HAS 1000% ALLOWED ME TO SHIFT. SEE THINGS DIFFERENTLY. OPEN MY MIND TO NEW POTENTIALS. ALLOW IN MIRACLES. AND FUEL ME TO WHAT I WANT. AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.
I have experienced time and again how once I admit what I want and allow myself to pursue it: life gets easier.
Things open up for me.
Opportunities just show up!
Situations shift.
And I expand, evolve, and become more than I previously imagined I could be.
EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I have experienced miracles time and time again.
I have had my jaw drop as I witness an experience unfold exactly as I had written out.
I have been absolutely awe-filled at receiving the immense magnitude of miracles showing up for me in larger and grander ways than I ever could have envisioned!
I know I am keeping it vague as far as these examples go. I could go into detail regarding hundreds of these manifestations I’ve co-created because I began with the “simplest” single starting step:
A VISION.
I challenge you this week to set aside 15 minutes, pull out a paper and pen, and think of a situation you want to experience differently in your life.
Start writing out WHAT YOU DO WANT.
Be open to something even bigger showing up for you than you previously imagined.
And if it doesn’t, that’s okay. Holding a vision and opening your BELIEF in your vision is a muscle that takes practice. Like so many things, we build these abilities over time.
I hope you take this simple, life-altering practice and implement it continually in your life.
Remember:
WHAT DO YOU WANT IN YOUR LIFE ?
Much love,
Jenna
